A BIT ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Annie Burks, a senior pursuing a B.F.A. in Interior Design at Rochester Institute of Technology. I grew up in a small ski resort town in Idaho, but rather than skiing, I found my passion in hockey. My journey to playing Division I hockey required me to leave home, spending time in Colorado and British Columbia to develop my skills. These experiences shaped my resilience, teamwork, and time management—skills that now influence my approach to design.
Living in diverse environments deepened my understanding of how spaces impact people on a personal level, further inspiring my career in interior design. At RIT, I’m fortunate to combine my love for hockey with a strong education, continuously learning how to be a better student, teammate, and designer.
